Gameplay Decisions
In this section, I would like to address some changes to the core gameplay that would have made for a better FPS competitive gaming experience. This game fell flat on the actual gameplay, and the comments on the official social media pages reflected the sentiments of the player base. I am going to take into account the wants of the community as well as some of my own suggestions.

Game Modes
The game modes offered were not bad at all. The issue is that this was being pushed as a competitive hero shooter, but the game modes were more similar to Call of Duty and encouraged individual play. Rainbow 6 Siege, Overwatch, and Marvel Rivals all have game modes that require the team to play as a team, whereas these map designs and game modes in Concord are geared more towards individual play. Again, these game modes are not bad, but there was nothing here to set them apart. Some game modes that may have helped would have been capture the flag, or a mode that has hero bans in a draft style. Furthermore, the classic cargo transport was not available upon release.
Dynamic Maps
Maps that change or that can be manipulated throughout the game change the meta and give room for creative plays. This could include destructible walls and floors, or environmental events that manipulate the entire landscape, or traps and hazards that are introduced over time. What we want to avoid is the same repetitive gameplay and gimmicky hotspots that allow one team to hold a point indefinitely.
Crew Builder
The Crew builder for the individual game modes was more of a chore than a feature. One of the more admirable things that was added to the game was the variant system. The variants provided perks for the individual player once they died and selected another variant. This was a great comeback mechanic that could have been unused to stack advantages when doing poorly. However, the way it was implemented forced the users to draft teams of characters and variants that they would select from upon death. This limited the player's options in-game, and the crew only accommodates 12 slots, with each variant taking up a slot as well.
1st Person Perspective
One small quality of life update that would have greatly improved the flow of the original gameplay is removing the 3rd person dodge. The third person dodge zooms out from the 1st person view and then back in. It is awkward and unnecessary. Games like Call of Duty have found ways to implement movement techniques into the core game play without the 3rd person transition.
